These terms explain how Lapstory works and what we each agree to when you use it.
Who we are
Lapstory is operated by Youngmin Cha, 05-816 Michałowice, Poland. You can reach us at hello@lapstory.com.
Our reseller, Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Who can use Lapstory
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, make books or buy stars. Lapstory is made for adults who want to give a story to a child. Children should not use it on their own.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to your email safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from My books.
Stars and books
- Stars are prepaid credits for making books. A pack of 20 stars costs the price shown at checkout; a book uses 15 stars (1 to preview, 14 to unlock). Your first preview is free.
- Stars never expire while your account exists. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- Each finished book includes 2 free picture redraws. Extra redraws use 1 star each.
- Prices include or add taxes as shown at checkout, depending on where you live.
Your stories
You keep the rights to the stories you tell us. You give us permission to process your story only to make, store and show your book, and to send it to the people you choose. We do not use your stories to train AI, and we do not sell them.
Please only tell stories you have the right to share, and only include details about children you are responsible for or have permission to include.
AI-made pictures and narration
Pictures, story text and narration are created with artificial intelligence based on what you tell us. AI can make mistakes, such as a detail that does not match the story. You can check every page, use your free redraws, and contact us if something is not right.
Content rules
Books must be kind and suitable for young children. Our content policy explains what we do not make. We may decline or stop a book that breaks it.
Gift links
Anyone who has a book’s gift link can open that book. Share it only with people you trust. You can ask us to turn a gift link off at any time.
Refunds
Our refund policy explains when you can get your money back.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Lapstory running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may update these terms; if a change matters, we will tell you by email or on the site before it applies.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country. Apart from those rights, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without taking away the protection of the consumer laws of the country where you live.
